Howcome nobody in 16 replies to the first post has asked Andrews1 (the rocket's finder) the first question I always ask in response to a relic-ID request? (Could you please provide very-exact size measurements of the object, preferably made with a Digital Caliper?) The exact diameter of the rocket's head, and exact length of the entire rocket, will exclude some possible identifications and perhaps confirm one.

Well in my defense, I don't play with munitions unless I know they are safe now. When I was a kid and we were stationed in Okinawa (77-80, 10-13 years old), I drug up a projectile I found while snorkeling.

Well my dad lit my backside up on the beach infront of God and everyone. Then went to the pay phone to call in the live WWII round, and our beach outing was shortened by many hours.

It turned out to be a US Navy munition (One of many) that was unleashed on and pounded the island during the Battle of Okinawa 01 April 1945 to 22 June 1945.

Everytime I think of picking up any large munitions, my backside starts to sting.......Can't recommend in good conscience for anyone to touch something that may/may not be live and/or unstable.
