Looks like a base to me, but I am far from an expert. Sombody will be along to tell you for sure. :thumbsup:
 

Thanks, everyone this is just to cool. Any ideas as to age and type of stone this was found in the middle Con. river valley just east of Northampton. Any more info appreciated.

That looks like a late archaic (3000bp) stemmed point, perhaps an "Orient Fishtail" type (hard to tell from pic)...probably a fine grained rhyolite.

HD, When you say (3000bp)Do you mean3000 years before European occupation and decimation of the indigenous people?
