I got out to pedal my bike today as it was a fine day to do so. I haven't been out on it in awhile, so it took a bit of effort to keep moving. I road along some of my routine paths that travel along old irrigation ditches and the local lakes. I even found a new path that runs out around a recently open space area that was a farmers field not long ago.

Great scenery.
There's still a little left around here. You won't experience it driving around in your vehicle on the busy roads. These are areas that have been specifically left alone. They're still building like crazy around here, as the real estate market is booming. Now all the new developments are crammed together with hardly a yard around it and more and more 3 story high apartments and townhouse are now being built, planned and re-zoned from agriculture. Had they not decided to allow some places to be left alone it be pretty depressing. All my neighbors were heading out for the mountains this weekend. I stopped to talk to one as he was loading up all his camp gear on the top of his minivan. I asked were he was off to. He said he was gonna head north of Cheyenne, Wyoming to Curt Gowdey state park, because it still has a couple of campsites available. It's crazy in the Colorado Rockies anymore especially on these 3 day weekends. In less than 3 years now I would've been watching Colorado change for half a century from time I first came to this, Jonn Denver Rocky Mountain High country. I've retired now and I've decided not to let all this rearranging bug me. I've seen a lot of the beauty it once was and still there's a lot left to see for those who haven't. You just gotta share it with a lot more folks these days.
