Well yes that is a road. The river goes underneath the road through a 48 inch culvert. It's only about a foot wide and is covered with snow, so I took a picture of the sign. I'll run over there tomorrow if it don't snow and get you a better one.

I had a friend who 'panned for Gold' around there every year.

Fossis...............
 

They still do that Fossis. Generally they're down there on the river south of Leadville where it comes out of California Gulch. I know a couple of guys who went down Ten Mile Creek north of Fremont Pass all the way to Frisco and found a few flakes. I panned some but I still find a lot of mica, which gets me pretty excited at first. I took that DFX out and set it on prospect and got a lot of hits, but the only thing I got up that I could recognize was a gold bracelet. I been studyin on it and will try it again when spring gets here in July, and maybe do a little better. If the Forest Service don't run me off.
