Prospecting
Looking for a partner to join me prospecting and mining Arizona this winter.
I'm 50 years old, easy going but serious about the gold. Have been prospecting and mining for 15 years.
Looking to drywash and metal detect gold in the Mojave Desert and looking for someone to drive.
I have a 4x4 truck we can use if needed.
I'm also interested in prospecting some of the old drift mines with the possibility of opening one back up. If you know how to rappel that would be great.
I have 2 metal detectors, a Proline dredge/highbanker combo, clean up sluice, sluices, pans etc.
I also have a 2 stroke Echo leaf blower vac pack that can vacuum bedrock as well as power a drywasher.
Looking for someone who has a drywasher already or we can buy a used one, I have a motor for it like I said.
I have found open ground to prospect in numerous locations.
Would like to mine and camp full time.
Lets get some gold...

Welcome !

welcome cheechawker.
we have some of the best weather in the us for winter camping.
today it is 77 and nice and dry, very comfortable.
it can also get very cold after the sun goes down.
lots and lots of free desert dispersed camping.
tips... bring 20 gallons of water, bust a radiator you are
going to find out.
have a good tool set. i hope you have good tires and a good spare tire. sharp rocks off road is no joke.
know your limitations off road. i have had more than a few trips ruined pulling people out of the desert
that were in over there vehicles abilities. one time it was me.
bring the gmt and the vac pack. leave the dredge, there's no water.
there's a guy selling a dry washer on craigslist just east of Yuma, check it out.
i would stay out of them coyote holes if i were you.

good luck i hope you find a bunch.

I'm open for suggestions for sure but I'm looking into the Greaterville or La Paz areas to start. Maybe Gold Basin. I'm also interested in checking out the Huachuca Mtns area and joining the club down there to prospect their claims.
There's so many areas to research and I'm brand new to the state of Arizona. Doing my research one county and one district at a time. It's very time consuming but something I enjoy.
Any advice on pulling location notices with the BLM for areas in question? I used to send them an email with all the active claims I wanted to see and they would eventually send me the location notices so I could plot them out on a map and understand exactly what ground is open or not. In the past it would take them weeks or months to finally send the info requested. Does anyone know of another way to get exact locations of active claims? The MLRS map just shows approximate location correct? County clerk maybe?
Is there anyone who mines on Arizona State Lands? I've read that it's possible but very restrictive. Some of the good ground is located on State land. Is it worth it?
Lastly what about mining on any of the Indian Reservations? I've heard that some people have worked out deals to mine on reservation land? Percentage?
Thanks
