Are you able to STOP your thoughts?

In a fit of angry thoughts a person kills,he controlled his thoughts OR his thoughts controlled him?
To judge or to be judged on that thought would answer your thought.

"The Devil made me buy this dress." I think the word here is "influence". This is the whole thing about meditation--shut down the five senses and block the outside influences.

The devil is in the details.

Let me break it down a bit further,an FM receiver.Thousands of signals out there,it can only receive the frequency it is tuned to.Humans are a biological machine with a mind, observing humanity they are tuned to the wrong frequency.
Eh...?

Meditation is the key to controlling the thoughts.

Try just concentrating on a simple wood block (The ones that most children had growing up)
If another thought pops in-start again.
If one can concentrate on just the block for near seconds without another thought you're doing very well.

To the CREATOR.

Exactly what I figured...NOT INTERESTED.

WT, I respect your right to believe in whatever it is you wish
to believe in. What I don't respect is when people play games
in order to engage an individual in a discussion of your religion.

I see that simply observing "thoughts" they vanish, they are not real, only imagination,an image on the wall of your mind..very DANGEROUS place to live.

A dangerous place to live, you say? How about the 10's of millions that
have died in the name of one religion or another? "Religion" is nothing
more than stuff people made up in order to please or connect with
their own version of a god.

Religion can be very dangerous, and I believe that is why the subject
is not allowed on the forums.

I don't wish to be disrespectful to you over your own beliefs, so I
will take my leave.

Pick up guitar playing, absolutely will refocus

2 Cor 10:5 says to take your thoughts captive and control every one.

If the direction we are going here is that God made us and tuned us to a frequency that we have no control over. That's just malarkey

Well I just saw where this exact same topic was posted in December before I came here. Time to let it go WT.

I was bored so I clicked on his link. Sounds like hypnosis to me. It has never worked on me by the way. I refuse to allow Some one else to control my thoughts. Not sure this garbage should be allowed.

Figured I would warn y'all.

I never said HE did.
