I found these in a creek bed near the Buffalo River in Tennessee. They were all in the same general area so I thought they might be worth keeping. Did I find anything or is it just rocks :dontknow:
Thanks for the help!

bladelets looks like to me,good find,at least three of them, the one too the far right looks like limestone.but i think they used it sometimes

Thanks Jamey... maybe I should take a closer look at that creek.

The black one has for sure been worked on, good find:thumbsup:

I guess I'm going to be the downer I don't see anything that looks worked to me.
The dark one is the only piece that looks like flint I would expect to find in Tennessee I'm not sure the others are

yup but welcome to the tnet Pickin

No worries, thanks for the input...

On a side note, I live on a ridge that's nothing but slabs of chert rock. I saw someone on ebay that sells something called "Horse Creek Chert" and he gets it from this area. He only lists a couple auctions a month but it almost always sells for about $4 per pound :idea1: I'm wondering if there is a market for what I have. Over the years of planting gardens around my house I've dumped countless wheelbarrow loads of it down the hill. It's mostly grey and light brown with some red and black here and there. Can anyone tell me if knappers would buy slabs like this?

Yes the black one looks like it has been worked. Might be broken also but worked

So how do yall tell if a rock has been worked? I found this one that appears to have a serrated edge, maybe a knife? What do you think? And a small piece that looks more like what I would expect an arrowhead to look like... but maybe just a rock :icon_scratch: Thanks again for the help

That is a flake knife boom. Nature does not do that to that portion of the edge 3rd pic down. The last piece looks like debitage.

Thats a fine looking flake tool
