Are there any restriction on river detecting in South Carolina

I was wondering if I could detect in the Saluda river I'm coming down from Canada for the solar eclipse
I'll be using my AT pro (also are there any nasty creatures in the rivers)

Regarding nasty creatures, there is a potential for gators.

Rattle snakes, water moccasins , coral snakes and gators ! Buy some snake boots !And use a GPS, you DO NOT want to get lost in a S.C. swamp!

Make sure that you are not trespassing and assume that anyone you meet in the woods may be armed.

Waterfalljay is right, here in South Carolina most people are armed, but always ask permission...snakes are the big one
