Does anyone know of a reliable person that repairs Aquasound metal detectors? I'm sorry to report that Mr. Gold, the guy who sold and repaired them, passed away earlier this year. RIP. Any info would be appreciated.

I think the people in North Carolina who still work on the Nautilus units may have the ability.

Dave Spencer at Kellyco could probably give you some advice

"Fisheye" on this shipwreck forum runs one. He may know somebody? PM him.

There's another guy on another forum who has one. I think it's dewcon on Findmall

I had two Robo .... both gone now simply because of the cost to run them. Aquasound has a facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/500532286721855/ that the Bulgarian runs i think ...... he may be doing it or at least may know who is. I dont believe Richard was doing all his repairs or coils. Wayne Lee is the guy who aquired a percentage of the business from Tyndall then the remander after the President of Nautilus passed away. Hes doing some repairs he told me trying to get it back up and running. Not sure of his tech knowledge, but he does have a good many parts..... including coils. Msg me i have Waynes number. Oh..... he had know idea that Tyndall had worked with Herb on the Aquasound so he didnt know a water version existed.

Thanks guys. I spoke with the Bulgarian and he needs an Aquasound repaired also. There may be a purchase of the company in the works.

Thats interesting......... meaning someone CAN do the repairs and get the parts. Strange .... but Obviously not from Nautilus.

I am pretty sure my hunting partner Dave Spencer at Kellyco can work on them, he worked on his. I tried calling him but he did not pick up (means he is busy) l will advise once I talk to him.

Thanks TH. I still haven't found anyone.

I talked to Dave and he says he would probably be able to repair them depending on the part that is bad. He wouldn't know for sure till he was able to see the detector, he did repair his.

I'll give Dave a call at Kellyco. Thanks TH

TH......... Wayne Lee who now owns Nautilus might be able to help Dave if he needs parts. I have his number.

Thanks Dew, Dave already has his number.

Sorry, Dave said it was Herb Mcdonald the original owner of Nautilus who passed away that Dave knew, if you have Lee's number please pm me and I will forward it to Dave.

I own an Orca Aquasound built by Rudy (Mr Gold) in 2004. It's still in good condition and worked fine the last time I used it before being placed in storage in 2013. Now I can't find the battery charger with the alligator clips that came with the detector. I'm looking for input from some current or previous Aquasound owners about the charger's voltage output and if it matters about which clips go where on the control box so I can make another one. Most likely, the NiMh battery pack that was replaced around 2011 during a leak repair by a guy in NC are no longer good. Any help would be appreciated.
