Apple moniter

OpenOffice for Mac works great and is free. IMO, keep it. You will enjoy it and they are very expensive to buy new.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade. Do a google search about Macs & virus. Due to lower numbers of Macs & a different operating system they are much less likely to get a virus. That doesn't mean they are immune. This is especially true if you use the Mac to run Microsoft programs.
We have heard that for years ... And never known of any one that got a virus on there Mac yet.. My grandson has had his for about 7 years give or take and runs Microsoft word on his since he has had it and never had a problem............... My wife also told me she said she saw on the internet that mac's can get a virus ...... I told her that is from one's that do not know what they are talking about..... They only tell the truth on the internet ... Do you believe every thing you see on the internet..?.............................. DSCN0388.webp

I have heard that is it possible to get a virus, but you basically have to give the virus permission to enter your computer. It can't just sneak in like on a PC. Day to day use you should be totally fine.

Macs are definitely not immune to viruses......but the risk is miniscule compared to that of a Windows-based system.

Keep the Mac and dump the Dell. A 2006 model sounds like a meltdown waiting to happen.

I will keep on taking my chances with Apple so far not mine or any one i know has had a problem.... With microsoft i always had to pay for virus protection ... And no one i know with a apple has ever had to pay for that protection ..... So then really Apple computers are cheaper in the long run..................
