have some sad news, below is a e-mail i received from Adam, Sect of Phenix City Gold Grubbers.

"Miner Mike is not doing well. On Saturday he collapsed and was rushed to Lanier Memorial in Valley, AL. He has been in a coma since, the doctors are saying he is not improving and it does not look good. Please keep him and his family in your prayers."

our prayers are with him.....I hate to hear that.God bless miner Mike.

good folk are getting hard to come by these day's .It hurts to lose good people. When are you going to get in the Ga. area? You need to load up and go Fri. morning ........ Bring that ole ' b.h. - and let's look for a pocket .

.
He was 80 when he died but he was active and sharp right up until his last day .
He had been working in their garden on that day and came in the house to get a
glass of water and just dropped dead right at the kitchen sink , glass in hand .

He was good folk .

[/quote] Sorry for your loss TAKODA! well if you gotta go, he went quick and that is the way id like to go when my number is called! atleast you had the opertunity to share with him and all the memories that go with his friendship!

that's a lot of movement !!!!!!! I do envy your log and note taking skills. That's where I need work.... Your notes have paid off a few times -and still paying off.I am still weak in the high ground dept. , I did do a little last weekend out of necessity - my tank was leaking on my dredge ,noticed it when I unloaded it at the creek. :'( .......Didn't get to run it (next time it will have a brand new one !} so I wound up swinging the g.b.pro - hit a lot of bullets ,and junk, no good targets .I wanted to hit the high ridge would have done better there. But after being up all night the night before -wall mart sale - had to take care of Mrs. Strick and the boys .I didn't have the energy to play mountain goat .Went and had a good dinner and off to camp- woke up sat. morning got the reel out caught a 22" and a 14" rainbow cooked on an open fire .That was the best breakfast I have had in years . If you ever decide to take on a apprentice Please consider me the first in line for the Takoda school of high ground .

Hey Produce Guy,
Are the creeks you mentioned on private property or is there public access where I can sluice and pan?

Thanks

Hey Bigwill , Being from LA ( Washington county ) you could stay a little closer to home
and maybe try out Weogufka creek . There are various places to get to it . I had a little luck
awhile back on this creek . You could take the crew and maybe try along the stretch from the
railroad in Clay county down to 231 in Coosa . Just a suggestion .

You own a boat ?
