Anyone know what this might be?

Can anyone take a guess at what this might be? I was trying to find a camp and i found this near a nail and rail spike but i was only about 10 feet from the tracks so i dont know if it was coincidence or if i may have found part of it.

It looks to me like it might be a piece to an old oil lamp, as in the pic below...( the piece in the center)
