thanks for the input. Are some tusks smooth and ROUNDED at the end?

When interfered with by man, yes. ie cut & polished.

Tusk pedant may be a better call. Reckon it still could be a shark tooth that had been rounded/smoothed in ocean :wink:

To me it looks like possibly fossilized antler, but it might be something else. The saw marks will eventually tell in what age it was fashioned. Off hand the marks seem very regular and made with a more modern metal saw.
