All of these stones are a coquina type stone that came from the same coastal site. They all have been altered from their natural shape..some more than others. Grinding is visible on all edges.

Absolutely..
I only took photos of a few.

I was thinking about this all day.....! Could they possibly have been used as a strigil ? ???

"A strigil was a small, curved, metal tool used in ancient Greece and Rome to scrape dirt and sweat from the body before effective soaps became available"

I like the way your mind works. I suppose that is possible...but there was plenty of water around and sand for abrasive. I have some with some very curved shapes that seem they would be perfect for shaping the rim. I think your gut was most likely correct. I can see tooling marks on the pottery from that site that seem consistent with them. Although now you have me thinking......

Looks like plain ole rocks. I wouldn't even bend over to pick them up, let alone waste other peoples time by posting plain ole rocks. Please post some legitimate artifacts, and a bunch of rocks that tickle your imagination. :icon_scratch:

What's your problem huh? Move along. Why did you waste both of our time with that post? You need to get something of your chest?

Just beacuse they were found in a ''midden'', that doesn't mean they are worked artifacts.

Go away.. who said anything about a midden?

I hate when people make posts after they are drunk.

I DO NOT DRINK! Show us some real artifacts!

Mabey you should start!! SHOW US SOME REAL INTELLIGENCE! ! I'm not responding to a fool any longer.have fun Bud.

If those rocks had been shaped that way from the water, it wouldn't have the angled edges. It would be rounded. So I believe it is real artifacts. Also whoever manger this site should ban you or put you in a remedial treasurenet app.. I'm only 28 and can tell those were worked... Silly noob.

No offense digger, but he ask a legitimate question "what are these". Now, I've read your complaints about rocks in the past. If this is not the place to ask "what are these" with a photo attached, where do we go ? I'll move on, and so will others. Want to see artifacts, computer ain't where you find them. Once again, don't take this wrong.

Thanks guys...you should read the p.m.'s I got from this Guy.

Old digger is just mad cuz you found artifacts and I found 2IH and a 14k gold cross.. So he's the 1st treasure net troll.. Lol. Maybe u should get out more mr digger, with your remedial comments.
