I'm in big bear.usually hunt alone because only have one huntin buddy.we are it up here,never seen another md'er.Kinda likin the idea of meetin like minded to have some fun....here or where your at.just sayin..

Lots of old campgrounds around your area, as that has long been the "mountain getaway" for the L.A. So. CA crowds, eh? You ought to be able to research out old scout camps, church camps, and so forth (preferably ones abandoned by 1964, haha).

You might try on the kinzli forum, as there several So. CA hunters that read and post there, that hit a lot of So CA parks and beaches.

how about u tom?I have exclusive on two ski areas....couldnt hunt em in a lifetim

bigfoot1, trust me, you do not have "exclusive" on any ski area there in So. CA. If by "exclusive" you mean that no ones ever hunted them. It's simply not true, EVEN if whomever you're talking to there now (who perhaps says "no one's ever hunted here before"). Trust me: they've all been hunted. When those places become a ghost town in the summer (when all the snow melts), md'rs will indeed go there and hit the slopes. Even if the whomever your talking to there now, is not aware of this.

Have you hit them in past summer melts? If so, have you found any old coins? Or just the current seasons drops (or "just clad" or whatever).

by exclusive I mean this.....even when they are doing hill maint.I get to go in.well my friend....they do hill maint.all summer.I am also the lost and found recovery guy.After 20yrs workin for em....I guess it helps.and btw....I am the only machine I have ever seen swingin....by the time they open it up...grass too tall.
