I am in Rowan County

I am in Salisbury over near High Rock Lake area

When you want to go metal detecting? Myself and two other guys I work with try to go hunting early Saturday morning. We are in Salisbury area.

I'm in the national guard in salisbury and work full time at the flight facility where the Blackhawks are at. There is a huge field of property next to it that we lease for training. I think we can metal detect it. It's a good but of acreage plus wooded trail, guessing 20 acres. Anyways it's way more than I can handle alone. It used to be an old dump I hear so may even be some old bottles or who knows. If y'all are interested let me know. Also there is an old building back in the woods I'm trying to see if I can get permission to go metal detect it. It's an old county barn storage from the 60s or 70s maybe. Anyways will keep y'all updated on this thread.

I was born in that area... Still have aunts, uncles and cousins all over the place there... Family was there since before Rev War times...

I am in Salisbury! ATProAdam I just ordered the Garrett 250 and the pin pointer. My hubs got me a Bounty Hunter but it would not tell me depth so I am taking it back. It should be here by next week. Did you ever detect that field?

No I haven't done the field yet but will for sure let yall know when I get permission. I loved my ace 250. I gave it to my wife when I got the AT Pro two years later. I got my wife a bounty hunter pointer that she hasn't used much yet lol.

Well my 2 goodies arrived yesterday Garrett ProPointer, Garrett Ace 250. I went out and started digging in my backyard. We have about 7 acres so I have lots of place to practice. I have not found anything but trash so far. I would be happy for a penny at this point! lol lol . I know it takes practice so I am excited to just be digging around!

Well trash is normal. But where there is trash people have been and there may be valuables. 90% of finds probably is trash but the good stuff makes up for it. I started with the same setup and it's great. Do research of properties and read books is the best way to learn. GARRETT has great books. Good luck and happy hunting.
