Anyone got the blues?

Sing Sing, Thanksgiving Day 1972, wow...My wife was born in 1972!!

Reportedly, B.B. calls this show one of his best performances, and judging by the video below, it’s easy to see why he might. In this clip from the documentary, he turns in a stunningly impassioned performance of “How Blue Can You Get,” full of soul, humor and his fantastic guitar work. He had originally recorded the song as “Downhearted” for his 1963 album, Blues in My Heart. Soon after he remade it as “How Blue Can You Get,” and it was released as a single in 1964. From then on, it became a staple in his live set.

R.I.P. BB King.
As a guitar player I get it....
heaven has one hell of a band!!

It's been a rough week for musical geniuses. Legendary Western Swing fiddler Johnny Gimble passed also.

Here's a couple by Charlie and guests....

I know I said Charlie and guests even though he's a guest on Ben Harper's album but Charlie released his first blues album in 1960 where as Ben does all sorts of styles.
Anyway, that album is killer and I have to add one more track......

Bridge of Sighs
Song by Robin Trower

The sun don't shine
The moon don't move the tides,
To wash me clean
The sun don't shine
The moon don't move the tides
To wash me clean
Why so unforgiving, and why so cold
Been a long time crossing Bridge of Sighs
Cold wind blows
The Gods look down in anger,
On this poor child
Cold wind blows
And Gods look down in anger,
On this poor child
Why so unforgiving and why so cold
Been a long time crossing Bridge of Sighs

Well, what do you expect from a headbanger?

Gary Clark, Jr really is one of the young lions of blues.
