Anyone familiar with revolver hammers?

Found this today. First actual gun part I've found! Not all that familiar about vintage gun parts. The knot in the photo is approximately the size of a dime, for scale. The field has had documented activity since the mid 18th century, including a civil war battle.

Not sure about the gun part but the key is Model T Ford about 1917 to 1927.

Doesn't really look like a firearm hammer, maybe from a toy ?

My first thought was the same as Tony's, but I don't think this was from a toy gun.
I'm thinking because it looks to be made of brass, that it's possibly from a clock movement.

From the pix. it looks way to thin to be a 'revolver hammer'. How thick is it ?

It reminds me of a safety catch on a hand tool. I can’t quite place it but I’m sure not a revolver hammer.

Definitely brass. I will start checking clock parts. None of the hammers that I have researched, yield any favorable results. Will have to keep looking for that old gun!

I go with pawl as well. Looks like possibly from a light winch.

I've only found a few "T" keys too.
I don't think that is a hammer. there isn't any place for the spring or the sear.
modern example....

It's 6.83 mm.

If its a pawl its from a very small winch .This 4 ton winch pawl is 10.5mm

+1 on it being a pawl. Was it found near the Model T key? Could it possibly be a parking pawl? Or is it too thin?

It was found in the same 18 acre field, but found more than 100 yards away from each other.

I really think that brass would be a poor choice for a firearm hammer or a pawl for a winch. Something along those lines would be made of sturdier material than brass. Brass would self destruct in short order...
