anyone ever find "gold" roman coins on ebay?

im gonna purchase a few coins just cause,my wife and i thought it would be cool. 2 bucks a pop for ancient roman, what the heck. its funny tho, im reading some feedbacks where people find gold in these lots. seriously...... im sure they have been weighed or picked through for the gold. i doubt gold would be that hard to pick out from a bunch of bronze and what not coins. i can inderstand silver, if your lucky, but gold? has anyone in here got some ebay romans and discovered a gold one?

Yes,gunner.your right about their attitude,but their knowledge is very helpful.I do a lot of reading,hardly ever post and have never purchased anything from their site.

Curtis Clay is among the few who really know their stuff on that site. As far as the fake coins on ebay go, that is very true. I will be happy to offer my opinion on any roman coin to anyone who is concerned as I have seen (and bought) my share of fakes during my first couple of years into the hobby.
