Anyone been doing anything in Maryland

I know this is a old post but anyone want to get together near Cockeysville,Towson of Baltimore County. Chris

Have you been finding anything?

I am going to try to get out this weekend in Calvert County. Hopefully, I will have some good things to post Monday.

Brought my metal detector to a boy scout campout, and I found lots of boy scout stuff such as compasses, bollos, ties, some pliers with a BSA logo on it, and even some binoculars!

I working on three sites in Harford. Best find so far was a nose cast Confederate minie ball and a 1795 large cent which is toast.

My god, I have never found anything silver. My oldest find from Maryland is a 1951 wheatie, but it was a surface find. I have found 1965 dimes and quarters, though. I saw someone detecting the Mt Airy Fairgrounds over the summer, though. I wonder if he has posted on the forum. I would love to talk with him about places to hunt!

Four hour hunt, testing out some winter hunting gear. Seems like I have nailed what is needed to stay warm in the water (35 degrees), when the winds are bearable and the temps are above 45. Only once did my right hand need some attention to get warmed back up, and it was submerged almost the complete hunt, with no movement. With this setup water hunting season will start earlier, looking for March, instead of late April.

Been out a few times hunting & testing the new coil change endcap, Switching from the Stock 10 to the little Sunray S-5 and the little guy sure can pick thru the trash. All the silver coins were found with the S-5 along with my second 3 ringer from the water, so I figured I needed some gold so I put the 10 inch on and went out deeper, nothing but a 1950's dive mask and silver ring.....lots of soft sand further from the shore, very silted in.. I had really contemplated getting a CTX if this did not work out, but I can see now the only thing I needed was a smaller coil to single out the treasure, one thing to note in high trash area's with a lot of big iron sensitivity had to be turned down to 5 (1 o'clock) because of the Halo of the coil reaching out.
