Any Northern Farmers with chickens here ?

I'm in S Mich raising cornish cross meat birds. I've always had a small backyard flock for eggs, never had any roosters, aside from a small bantam we got last year. These cornish birds are unbelievable. Got 29 chicks four weeks ago, and they've already gone thru 150 lbs of feed. They seem to grow 3 X faster than regular birds. They are ready to pluck at 6-8 weeks old, roughly 5 lbs ea in weight! FFD

that is some incredible weight gain....I had some white rocks that grew real fast but I think yours beat mine. I don't know if free range birds can grow as fast as one's penned up.
I don't think free-range birds could keep up; my birds lay on their sides with their beaks at the feeder, they live to eat! Eat, drink, sleep........eat, drink, sleep........
