. I dug both of these last year at the same site on separate hunts. They were found in newburgh NY near cellar holes in a wooded area. There is a 1800s Jewish cemetery nearby. The trail that goes to the site which I think was a road at one time goes towards a revolutionary war encampment. Its about two miles away. I think the image on the front is a large cat or puma type animal. I am not sure what type of metal it is made from but it is flaky on some edges. So maybe its pewter. The smaller one has three wires coming out the back that would have attached it to something and its hollow. The larger one is solid and has a broken attachment on the back that almost looks like a broken button shank. They are far to heavy too have been buttons though and heavy. These have interested me since I found them. What do you guys think? Any ideas are appreciated!
