What do you guys think? It’s 2ft+? long concrete cylinder with an Eccentric steel tube that stops about 8” in. I’m thinking some kind of footing? Possibly a well, or septic tank cap.

First thought when seeing the pic. Septic tank adapter(?). Or someone needed to reduce a pipe? There is stuff like that all around my Grandfathers house where he just made things work, however he had to with what he had laying around.

It could have even been a basketball pole or something? Stick the pipe in the ground and pour some concrete around it, then the steel rotted off over the years. Or something along those lines too.

Thanks for the ideas guys. This is at my father in laws house so the whole family is curious , my kids think it’s a cannon and are ready to light the fuse.[emoji23] Everyone wants me to get it all the way out so I’m gonna try but if I was alone this would definitely be a scratch your head moment ,fill in the hole and move on to the silver. Thanks again
