Also, do you think this is cinnabar? I found it at New Idra, an old Mercury mine. There was a lot of it. Thank you much!image.jpg

That would be great. Even though it is very small I almost never see azurite without malachite. It is. I haven't been touching it but I really wanted to get it positively identified.

Cinnabar is the ore of mercury. I would use precaution with it. Don't keep it in your house , near a heat source, etc.

If you want a positive ID a picture on a forum won't suffice. It's a qualified guess at best. :occasion14:
My best guess is also azurite.

I know it's doubtful but your rock resembles Linarite also.
You could do a streak test. Azurite should be blue and a hardness of 3 1/2 -4.
Linarite is softer. at 2 1/2 and light blue.
