Found this neat hook thing today. It's solid brass and says Japan on it. Anyone know what it is?

I found one and do not think it is a hoof pick. Notice how rounded the edge is. Would not make a good picking tool for horses. Mine was found in town. I believe it was used for crafts . I think this is used for making homemade rugs with cloth strips.

I think because of how thin & sharp it has to be from here down.
they wear out, or snap off

It is in fact a hoof pick.. I have race horses and use one regularly

Would they really make one out of brass? I would think tool steel would be best. Seems to me they're just asking for it to wear out in a hurry.

Its probably a brass plating or just a mix of metals. All the ones I have are steel. Then again it could be older and mad to be soft?? I dunno
