found this at a site that was abandoned in the early 60's,,, everything found there has been old,, thought that it was silver because theres no corrosion,, and the dirt just washed right off real easy,,,, but just checked it with a magnet and it sticks
all i can think is a filament from a old light bulb pretty soft and i hit the edge with a razor blade and it looks like silver

different kind of conducting metal....I could be wrong about what part of the camp stove it is but it most definetly wont go into a light bulb.....it could be the door as someone else said it could be a drip pan ...not sure but i can see that it isnt a piece of metal id use current on...heck I could bend it just right an have a sun roof over my md screen

I thought it was one of the two side pieces that unfolded and became the support for a sterno stove.

well i finally found the exact one ,,took a while but i found it,, apparently its made out of nickel,, pretty cool i learned a lot from this one ,, and yes nickel is attracted to a magnet,, hears a cool link about metals that are attracted to magnets,, thanks very much for the help all

DOCKER: I posted as I read the other posts, since I came in late I boo booed . My post came in too late, others have the credit of correctly id'ing it.

I had the advantage in that My early studies in Electronics involved some of these old tubes, it is the plate, not the grid. My guess is an old Rectifier or a simple triode tube.

Yep BCH, they are ALREADY worth big dollars to some folks...in fact, sometimes the "box art" from the small cartons they were packaged in is worth more than the tube itself. I'm also an amateur radio operator so I have quite a few old tubes "out back"...some are very beautiful works of art. There's a niche for everybody and everything out there, huh?
