the objest was found 5 feet away from a 1787 copper and was 8 in deep .....looks like it could have been a pin or small buckle at one time

When you enlarge a digital picture, the pixels will remain the same so the picture gets blurry. The only way to make the picture better is to take another properly focused picture with a higher resolution. If you need any help I can make some suggestions. Of most importance is to use the flower icon setting and remain still, pausing halfway, while pushing the shutter button, to allow an autofocus lens to adjust.
