Was going through some old finds, and I came across this plate. Rinsing it off, I noticed a dog with a cane and a cat playing a violin (I believe). It doesnt seem super old but I'm not sure what it could be....Merc is for size.

Thanks!

Hey diddle diddle,
The Cat and the fiddle, < **********
The Cow jumped over the moon,
The little Dog laughed. <************
To see such craft,
And the Dish ran away with the Spoon.

I think I can just barely make out a cow within the "moon" (circle opposite the other characters)
There would probably be a makers mark on back, to remind you who where to get other fine nursery rhyme dining pieces.

Thanks for the help, I figured it was related to the nursery rhyme...

I agree with Benz; it's a child's plate! Good eye :) Breezie
