Found this at a church property built 1907 land possibly farm land during 1700/1800s found a 1787 nj copper close by not sure what this could be but I think I’ve found similar item before I can post measurements just wondering if anyone recognizes it? 3CDB3FC2-3277-4C2C-86FE-FD5FC013EC1E.jpeg41232D99-A03D-42BC-BBBA-58A9F2B5219E.jpeg92960CC3-855D-4C64-BE17-B5FDCDBEE5F9.jpeg

IMO.. you have found a rare "spice pot" lid.

Similar to this...

Could even be something that was "hinged" like this... look for evidence of rough spot on side etc.

Nice find, definitely pewter and likely 18thc.

As ARC suggested, it certainly could be a spice pot lid, but it may also have come from any number of small pewter containers from the 'Colonial Period'. :icon_scratch:

Here's a pic of a similar style of lid that I have on a 'Victorian Period' Cruet set that I wanted to share with you.

Although, I realize your find is at least 100 years earlier in date.
