Any Ideas? Large Ring

Anyone seen anything like this? Its solid, very heavy, a couple of inches in diameter and was found at a site with late 1700 to early 1800 artifacts.

Looks like cast iron. I'd say decorative piece, stove fireplace related?

Possible... IF it has design on BOTH sides I would agree.

It is 1.5" inside diameter. There is a groove or "rabbit" indention on the other side. Should have posted this pic before.
