It looks to be flat or is that thread on the bottom for it to screw into something?

It is about 2 inches long ... yes it has threads on the bottom

It's a cane handle. This one is brass but ha the same type of threading.

I wish i had some better pics the guy that owns the house is wanting to hold everything until we are done. Witch is fine with me just so i can dig his house.. dates back to 1820
