Perhaps this is one of those early wristwatches that could be worn as a pocket watch or as a wristwatch. I found one similar. You can find out the age and company by carefully removing the back of the watch and searching for the date on the movement. There may be a serial number as well. Another thing to look for is any repair dates on the inside of the back cover - as watch/clock repair specialists etched the date of the servicing on there sometimes.

LostCauses is correct; it is a toy watch similiar to the one posted below, which was made by Penna. I'm sure when you saw it in the dirt, it was a heart-thumber! Breezie

PS: The tornadoes from yesterday hop-scotched over our neighborhood here in NC (thank the good Lord). We did have ping pong size hail, strong winds, and heavy rain. I had a friend who lost her home, car, but she escaped with only cuts and bruises.
