Can't tell you much but my mom used to do that caning. That chair can be easily repaired by someone that does the caning. Ask around, I'll bet someone in your area can do it. Gary

Looks like it's made of walnut, it has round nails and stylistically it probably dates to the early 20thc.

Unfortunately, someone has taken a Sharpie to the underside of this rocker and in my opinion has permanently damaged it's history. :sadsmiley:
Folks, if you're going to attach a 'label' to an antique piece, please us something other then a permanent marker! :BangHead:

Love the chair get it re-caned and use it or make part of your decoration.Is the sharpie writing someones name?
