Any good recommended sites near Fairfield, CA?

I am coming to visit my daughter and grandsons in the middle of June and would love to spend a couple of days swinging my Whites. I will be coming from Smyrna, TN to Travis AFB near Fairfield. I love to hunt relics as much as coins, but wouldn't mind giving prospecting a try. Let me know if you have any recommendations of places around Fairfield.

Can't help you with prospecting (nuggets), except to say that's not the right part of CA to get nuggets at. You'd have to drive over way east of there (to the sierra foothills), before the topography lends itself to that.

As far as coin/relics, there's lots of parks all over the bay-area, if you're a turf-hunter sort. All the old parks in SF (assuming they're not the super blighted bad-part-of-town ones), have turned up silver. But you gotta be good, as all the "4-star" easies are long gone
