Any Good Magazines or Books For the New Guy?

First, I want to thank everyone who responded to my posting from last week asking for advice on which metal detector to purchase. I had an opportunity to travel to the Mpls/St. Paul area yesterday and based on your recommendations I visited a dealer and purchased a Garrett Ace 250 unit.

I paid a bit more than I would have if I had bought it on the internet, but I figured it was worth it as the dealer did a fantastic job of explaining the thing to me, comparing the pros and cons of different models and making sure I started out on the right foot. She also spent a good deal of time explaining to me the proper way to not only dig for the find, but also the process of "repairing" the dig site to reduce damage to the grass. I had never given the idea of "cleaning up the dig site" any thought so this education in itself was worth the extra $$$. I definitely want to start out on the right track and don't want to upset anyone my first day out.

Anyway, at this point I'm now good to go ... but, after my visit to Mpls I realize that I still have tons more to learn. So my next question is, Are any good magazines or books that you would recommend? From my other hobbies I have come to learn that some of the magazines can be really helpful ... especially for the new guy -- me.

Again, thanks for all of your advice and help. This is an excellent form.
