Found this near a foundation of an old house. The date is unknown but I believe the foundation to be from the early 1800's.

I have no idea what it is nor does anyone I ask. It is all metal and fairly heavy. The picture is to show the approximate size compared to my hand.

Any help would be appreicated. Thanks

Watercolor and Gypsy Heart,

You have a point with those pictures and it is possible but most of what I found as far as research goes was that flax comb's or ripples were usually attached to something and the flax was pulled through it.

Obviously your pictures show that it is possible that I found a flax comb. I suppose I will have to take it to an antique dealer to see what they say.

I am waiting for cooler weather and no rain to visit the site again to see what else I can find.

I forgot to mention that there is an old what appears to be the steam part of a train or something like that as well. I will have to take a picture to show everyone what I am talking about.

I was only able to detect for about an hour the only time I went because it was getting dark. Walked away with a few ticks as well.
