Antique gold pocket watch!.......

Found on the edge of the shore line where we have been water hunting and finding old stuff.
Here are the before and after pics. Of course the insides are shot and the glass and hands are gone, but the back is solid gold! I thought it was plated till I cleaned it up. It had been there a long time.

That type of watch was known as an open face sidewinder with a sunken
second hand dial. It was called a sidewinder because the winding stem
was at the three instead of the twelve.
Very nice case probably 10 carat or more due to the way it cleaned up.
The size makes it look like a large ladies or small mans watch.
Very nice find.
