So it's a week now of 1-2 hour hunts. The initial program I put in is working good. I'm able to hunt the Slag and Iron infested areas that my AT would overload at, with zero chatter on the Deus.
I'm up to a dozen flats. 10 round balls (only 1 last year) and today 3 1798 LC' s.

The absolute zero chatter in the areas I'm hunting has really sold me on this machine.

Looks like the program you are using is working extremely well for you. Congratulations on the 3 large cents.

nice finds! How do you have your machine set up?

This my everyday relic program Sens 90-93 ,93 if im looking for deep targets ,tx 2-3 ,3 if im hunting deep targets and the machine is in an area that it will run somewhat stable at those high settings. Reactivity 2 with the reactivity set this high it will bust a 14 inch silver quarter in my soil yours might vary. Silencer 0 I never raise it above 0 it affects depth when you do tested in my test garden. Full tones in all my programs, discrimination 1 knocks out the ground noise and lets the iron be the baseline, I run 12 kh or 11.8 to be exact good all kh. Audio responce on 5 makes deep targets sound off and iron vol 0 doesnt come into play in full tones. Ground balance is key to get the most out of this machine I manually run mine down to ground number it reads on the meter after I swing it for a minute. This is my general relic hunting program that I use 95% of the time unless im in the thickest of iron then I go to my heavy iron program. This program is FAST and a deep one.

Thanks I'll try it.

Great finds! I read that article you mentioned on the Deus settings. I scratched by head at some of those settings but they must obviously be fine-tuned for his particular soil and site conditions because they would not be good for my sites. He mentions his "Kentucky" soil. I am guessing it has a high iron to salt ratio and the overall mineralization strength is probably pretty high. But those settings have been working great for you! Keep those coppers coming. Good luck!

Nice finds! I'm glad to see the Deus is doing good for you.

Jeff I can throw a rock into salt water most of the places I go.

The program works. Is it the best? I don't have a clue yet. Probably take me the rest of the winter experimenting and reading before I get it down. In the meanwhile I can swing this thing all day. I'm used to 5 pounds which made the hills a challenge. The deus is pleasure on them.

I agree Rick, it is a pleasure to swing the Deus. I think you already figured out how to master the Deus. Experiment with settings and read. Don't forget Gary's great vids also. I love to tinker with settings to see what works best and the Deus makes it very easy. I will often cycle through all my custom programs when I get over a target. To me that was the key to learning the Deus.

Nice finds.

Besides the light weight, the relatively easy programmability of the Deus makes it easy to experiment without fear of not being able to revert back to the program that has been working for you. You can insert Calabash's program right into an empty Deus custom program slot along side your go to program for some side by side testing in the field or your test garden. If the new program works better, great, you have a new "go to", if not, no harm no foul, you can revert right back to your original "go to" program. The customizions and multiple configurations are like having several detectors in one. Once you get used to the "discrimination" programs you might want to give Gold Field a whirl. Its a VCO based psuedo "All Metal" mode. Kind of like the pinpointer mode (sound increases in itensity and pitch as your get closer to a target, yet (unlike the pinpointer) you get full VDI functionality so you can differentiate targets with the VDI reading. I can now switch between a full tones "discrimination" program and a Gold Field program to get multiple "takes" on what and where a potential target is. In any event, don't mess with success but also don't be afraid to experiment. If it doesn't work out, move on and no harm done.
Happy Hunting!

Ok 3 weeks now and 23 flat buttons. Also met my yearly average for shot shells. 283 to be exact.
Picking up a lot of 22 and air rifle pellets.
Tried tweaking but end up back with same program. Also put away the remote while hunting.

Now I'm going to try Calabash' s open full tone program for a few weeks. Won't put away the remote to start.

man you found more in 4 weeks than I have in my whole life! lol great finds and what a start your off too.
