Its a good deal bigger and I payed $5.00 again, did I get ripped off or did I get another deal? :dontknow: Anyone know more about this point maybe age and value ? :notworthy: I hope you enjoy the pictures bellow.

Well if you liked it enough to give $5 for it that is all that matters. I see a big stack on it. Just remember you can always offer less and sometimes they will take it.

Va? I would say ok because of the stacks on it. If it was not real it would look perfect. It looks to be what we call a field grade point. Typical of what we find often.
It helps so much if you know provenance just like with some relics you dig... Antique store it could be from anywhere . My guess is south east as I have some like it. Its a knife.

Hey thanks for the replies!!

What is a stack ? So this is just an average field find ? I think it was found in North Eastern area.

Thanks again, HH !!

A stack is the thick spot towards the base. If it was the best material it would of been knocked off by the maker. Seeing a stack on a artifact usually means there is a weak spot like a inclusion in the stone. Most times if they tried to remove it the artifact would break so they left it on. The finer better quality points will have no stack.

The stacks are the little steeping stones or shelves you see on the surface of the artifact They wanted these because it was their next layer of removal. My guess is that they discarded it due to the type of materials strength. They could knock things out very quick and we have found many discarded as we still find them often today.

Good to know, thanks guys for the replies !! :notworthy:
More info is encouraged, thanks everyone !!

Keep @ it and HH !! :hello2:
