WeBoLoS (W = Wolf, B = Bear, L = Lion, S = Scout) This was a group done with cub scouts and studying the Boy Scout reqs to become a Scout. Once the criteria were met they became a Scout of the rank Tenderfoot.

The symbol on this one is from a Cub Scout. Boy Scouts wore one with the Tenderfoot emblem on them.

This from a former Life Scout (2 merits badges away from Eagle).

I had saved the ones I had found over 3 years , 28 ! I sold them on EBAY and made just over $25.00 for all . I always like digging them up ! Cool find

Cool find  I found a brand new looking one just barely touching the dirt in the grass this year ;D

We were always told it was WE'll Be LOyal Scouts. Don't even think they had Lion as a rank back when I was in Cubs...but that was a LOOOONG time ago. ;) But, yeah, the one that you found is from a Wolf rank Cub Scout neckerchief.

I was a cub scout in the early 60s. At the time, Bobcat, Wolf, Bear and Lion were the ranks as a Cub Scout. Somewhere along the line, they dropped Lion. I was out of scouts once the family left for Guam and Japan in '68.

Yep I'm with the rest of you guys , I must have lost a dozen myself. Found about half dozen to date.

Ah, so it's not that Lion came in AFTER I left Cub Scouts, it was there before I was in. Thanks for the info on that one.

well now that i know they are there it will be my lifes mission to find them all and then sell them for one million dollars mmmwahh ha hahaha (dr evil laugh) :evil5:

Just to make everything perfectly clear, there are four stages of scouting:

1. Tiger Cubs
2. Cub Scouts - Bobcat, Wolf, Bear ranks
3. Webelos - "We'll Be Loyal Scouts"
4. Boy Scouts

The item you found is called a Woggle.....and are collectable......The oldest I have found dates to the 1930's.....Still pretty cool

That particular design is a standard issue Cub Scout Neckerchief Slide.

I love finding them. I have had a couple of good hunts when I found a scout meeting place.
Here are some I found in one hunt.
