My place was built in 1900, find lots of era stuff. This lil guy was in a plug. Took pics as best as I could with size reference to some other things. I tried to get a good shot at the bottom which has the only markings. A while back I found an old silver eating knife engraved as R.D.H which I have seen for registered Dental Hygienist. Any input would be great but not expecting much. Not sure how far down it was because it fell out of the plug lifting it out and I didn't notice it until I dug further. I live in Shippensburg, PA. Thats all the info I got Tnet friends. Here it is.

Number on bottom says 804 but my lighting was bad for the photo

Looks like an old "monkey blood" bottle.

Man does that stuff bring back terrifying memories, that stuff stung when mom would apply it on a wound with that little glass dabur attached to the cap. It all looked like just more blood to the amount you were already losing. The effect of it all was horrendous. :icon_pale:

Yup, iodine and the little glass rod. Had it applied many a time. Still use iodine on cuts, it's good stuff, doesn't come in a bottle though, comes in a tear open packet. Iodine was a miracle medicine in WWI, and saved the lives of many wounded soldiers that would have died in previous wars. WWII it was blood plasma and penicillin.

I get 8 oz bottles of Providone Iodine from a vet supply house. The kind they paint on you before surgery that makes a film. We raise sheep and chickens - but it works on the odd cut for us. Still makes that 'ol hair stand on end when it hits a cut.
