This site I have been trying to get permission to hunt for about a month. House built in 1820's or so and used up to 1910. and finally got the time to go with the son of the landowner. Only problem was that he is a "follow you around" guy and when you find something it is his-I'm sure you know the one's. Weather was great except for the 50 mph ice cold winds that about blew us over as we hunted. I did manage to find a few things but junk everywhere so I used coin setting instead of relic. Found a hbent heart shaped brass broach that cleaned up good and a 1959 NC Wildlife Resources Fishing Net Tag #6007. I found a quartz indian arrowhead with point busted and an old Yale padlock that says on back "Made for USN". Then he wanted to go under the house and we found some bottles and canning jars and then inside where I found three old marbles and an old Heddon Lucky 13 fishing plug made of Balsa wood. All in all, it wasn't a bad day, but much was found just going to the site rather than detecting.

On the top floor this painting was on the wall ( a kids perspective of the house in its useable day). I thought it was kinda neat. Hope you like.

or treasure map

Great place to hunt. I agree with one of the other posts about digging all the bottle caps....he's bound to lose interest and leave you alone.
Keep at that place there is bound to be some goodies there.

Did you get to keep the Heddon? some of the old lures are worth $$$
Marty

What a sweet looking place to hunt. I'd hit every square inch. Looks like that wind would've toppled that old place. Did you go throughout the entire house, cellar? Is this acreage, out buildings? Look forward to more pics. Mark

Bet there are a bunch of old coins laying around that house, try to find the old outhouse probe the land until you find it and your probably guaranteed to find some nice goodies.

Just keep digging bottle caps until he realizes the grim reality and flees.

That sounds like a winner to me. Great digs anyway.
