Hello All..
Been reading this site off and on for quite sometime now, and this Christmas Santa was nice enough to get me a Metal Detector. I've always toyed with the idea of getting into detecting, coin hunting, etc.. But Work and my other hobbies usually got into the way. Alot of my spring - fall is spent down at the jersey shore surf fishing, Now I'm Happy to say that I have a metal detector to pass the time when the winds and tide are not optimal for fishing.
I currently live in Phoenixville Chester County, but grew up in lower Bucks County near Newtown. Between those 2 areas I figure there is alot of history. I got out today for an hour with my nephew and scanned around a softball field that is seldom used anymore, the field is behind a farmhouse that dates back to the 1800's but is currently now restored and occupied. Managed to find 2 pennies (both 5" deep), some old beer caps, the front end of what looks to be a tonka truck, and an aluminum can. Had alot of fun doing it though!
Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and say Hello.
