Went back again, looks like I'm just starting to find the great stuff at the place.
My first target was the Admiral Dewey Antique silver spoon
Found my first old buckle, my first was a remake, and found my first LC
the wheat and the lc i can not read the dates yet but they are soaking in a hydrogen peroxide bath, will post pics when done ;D
any ideas on the age of the buckle, please post :help:

*UPDATE* The coins are done, they came out good.
-1852 LC, couldn't get all of the green crust off tho
-1910 Wheat Penny, beautiful green patina

Harsh polishing is probably the last thing this spoon needs. Dug out silver's surface can be very brittle and when polishing it you can loose some detail and metal. I believe these souvenir spoons are ca early 20 century.

I hear what your saying tuatara, the last thing that you'd want to do is polish out any of the engraving. I use a soft creme called "Peek", it comes in a silver tube similar to a toothpaste tube. I use this on all my antique and delicate silver pieces. On my liquor decanter, cruet set and other not so delicate pieces I use "Twinkle" silver polish.

Very good advice tuatara. :icon_thumright:
