Another good day

Today turned out to be a good day over all. Hitting the same school yard I did yesterday, I found a few more interesting bits. First the coins, today was my first Sacajawea dollar along with some additional clad. Also in the bag today were two silver pendants (in surprisingly good shape), a copper ring (in so so shape), a copper play cloin (close up below). I'm don't know much about these as it's date 1963 but for copper sems to be in excellent shape.

Finally I found a rock that made my detector go ape. It loves magnets and is pretty solid also posted on "What is it?" forum. It was found in gravel brought in from a quarry so I'm not sure about it's origins.

If the rock reads, "Iron," then it may be a meteorite!

Most likely it is magnetite, but it is always a rush to find a hot rock.

Great suggestion, try a magnet, I've seen meteorites that size sell at the national show for upwards of $200 to $300

It's worth a try.

There's a way to check but it's destructive

That hot rock sounds like it may be a meteorite, especially if it attracts a magnet.

Way to go on the finds, and silver this time, too.I'd check the rock with a nagnet. Keep em swinging!

The rock is attracted to a magnet but upon doing a streak test I found that the rock leaves a grayish black streak (like pencil lead) and so I figure it's probably magnetite but a "hot" rock is always pretty exciting.

But even with that minor disappointment, the silver and the dollar coin of today makes up for it. It was still a good day in my book
