Just came across this on Yahoo news. http://californiawatch.org/dailyreport/gold-mining-threatens-yosemite-groups-say-12772
Thought you all here in Ca might want to be aware of it. Looks like they're going to push for an exclusion zone around Yosemite. Also great to see that the OMR is wanting private citizens to go out and spy on those evil gold miners...so much emotion and so little common sense. :violent1:

How true. Next thing you know, they will have those same dufusses thinking they are the enforcers. Then people get hurt. Regardless of how it happens, it will be the gold prospectors fault. That has long been established. >:(

To come under state jurisdiction, a surface mining operation must disturb more than 1 acre or remove more than 1,000 cubic yards of material.

but they shut down dredging :icon_scratch:

Too bad there's not some way to let the citizenry know that anybody who consorts with the enemy (the gov.) is a quizling and is to be abhored and shunned by the real Americans.

Gramps most Americans dont really care, and dont want tobe bothered by this small group of miners that are "ruining the mother earth"! well so much for their knowledge!!! the trouble with the news media is that they only want flashy news articals to catch the headlines..........and not the truth!

“These claims are close enough that the cyanide and other toxic chemicals they use to separate ore from rock could run off into the Tuolumne River and the trails and wildlands that surround it,” said Farrell, adding that only a tiny amount of cyanide is needed to kill fish and other wildlife."

What makes them think this stuff is even used?

remember! if lies are repeted enough times, they will become the truth to the unknowledged! as i the case with most of the garbage that comes out of these wacoenvirmentalist wannabes!

Or they have this mentality! LOL

Umm, Me thinkum liberal tree huggers live in woodum tepees. ::)

i can't find the origanal that came out in the 80s, but a group hung out in front of a busy store and was taken a survey, i think it might have been done in Washington, everyone interviewed wanted a ban on this

Ban Dihydrogen Monoxide!

The Invisible Killer
Dihydrogen monoxide is colorless, odorless, tasteless, and kills uncounted thousands of people every year. Most of these deaths are caused by accidental inhalation of DHMO, but the dangers of dihydrogen monoxide do not end there. Prolonged exposure to its solid form causes severe tissue damage. Symptoms of DHMO ingestion can include excessive sweating and urination, and possibly a bloated feeling, nausea, vomiting and body electrolyte imbalance. For those who have become dependent, DHMO withdrawal means certain death.

Dihydrogen monoxide:
is also known as hydroxyl acid, and is the major component of acid rain.
contributes to the "greenhouse effect."
may cause severe burns.
contributes to the erosion of our natural landscape.
accelerates corrosion and rusting of many metals.
may cause electrical failures and decreased effectiveness of automobile brakes.
has been found in excised tumors of terminal cancer patients.

Contamination Is Reaching Epidemic Proportions!
Quantities of dihydrogen monoxide have been found in almost every stream, lake, and reservoir in America today. But the pollution is global, and the contaminant has even been found in Antarctic ice. DHMO has caused millions of dollars of property damage in the midwest, and recently California.

Despite the danger, dihydrogen monoxide is often used:
as an industrial solvent and coolant.
in nuclear power plants.
in the production of styrofoam.
as a fire retardant.
in many forms of cruel animal research.
in the distribution of pesticides. Even after washing, produce remains contaminated by this chemical.
as an additive in certain "junk-foods" and other food products.
Companies dump waste DHMO into rivers and the ocean, and nothing can be done to stop them because this practice is still legal. The impact on wildlife is extreme, and we cannot afford to ignore it any longer!

The Horror Must Be Stopped!
The American government has refused to ban the production, distribution, or use of this damaging chemical due to its "importance to the economic health of this nation." In fact, the navy and other military organizations are conducting experiments with DHMO, and designing multi-billion dollar devices to control and utilize it during warfare situations. Hundreds of military research facilities receive tons of it through a highly sophisticated underground distribution network. Many store large quantities for later use.

It's Not Too Late!
Act NOW to prevent further contamination. Find out more about this dangerous chemical. What you don't know can hurt you and others throughout the world. Send email to [email protected], or a SASE to:

"Water"? I saw show on TV about this and people where just signing away and didn't even know what they where trying to ban.

yep i remeber that video on youtube! they targeted the younger people for their answers. the people doing the survey knew it was water.they were just showing how dumb some people are!heck, i didnt know what it was either!it just goes to show you how fast people are to jump at a conclusion without knowing all the facts. this is a perfect example of what, we as miners, are haveing to put up with!
