Another ebay problem.

Funny thing about this post is that I have never got a reply like this . They have never messaged me with "I have started the process" in a first "person to person" reply . Then again I have never had to wait weeks to receive any refunds . So tell us if your reputation with them is "unblemished" or have you had a number of refund cases ? This may be why they're taking more time . If you've had other "issues" with sellers and buyers than what else could you expect ? IMHO , Woodstock
Just great, ANOTHER 3-4 days.

You really do make a lot of assumptions don't you? I really don't care how they have messaged you. Have you ever filed a claim over a thousand dollars? If you had, I'm sure you would have dealt with someone in customer support that would have sent you messages on how great an ebayer you are too.

While working on this case, I have taken a brief look over your feedback profile and I can see your sellers really enjoy doing business with you. For example, "Great Buyer....buy from or sell to with confidence!” clearly shows you take a lot of care to be a great eBayer. Keep up the great work!

So to answer your question, no, I have not had "a number of cases".

No I don't and didn't make any assumptions but only stated the facts as I read them . And yes I have filed claims in that range . And yes I have dealt with customer service on more than one occasion . However you haven't answered how you could have made over 10 grand in purchases and never was or ever had your bank account verified ? And I have reached close to 500 ~ 100% positive feedback's and settled a number of disputes all in my favor as both a buyer and a seller . So what is your point ? There's no reason to question me or my experiences with them . Asking you a simple question like why you'd assume that they'd give you any information with a phone call doesn't prove to them that they are really talking to you, even if you have case numbers . And I can assure you that even the seller couldn't ask questions in a case still being investigated . I fully understand the inner workings of both eBay and Paypal and some of those workings take time and I've been frustrated as well . But those delays are caused by a full and fair investigation so everyone involved is protected .
Judging by your attitude I really don't what to hear your explanation how you racked up all these business transactions without a verified Bank Account when it's needed to open an account to begin with ... maybe you changed banks without notifying them or whatever .
That being said keep your explanations that I asked about unanswered . As for me I wasn't or I will never worry about any claims I file with eBay or Paypal . And it's none of my business how you could have had a Paypal Account for so many years with so many transactions without having your bank account verified , but somewhere somebody goofed up . Either it was them or you but someone dropped the ball . Good luck with your refund, I hope all works out and you get your money soon . IMHO and Best to All , Woodstock

For the record, you do not have to be verified to have a paypal account. However, you do have to be verified if you want to transfer more than your allotted maximum "send limit" per month to your bank account. Mine was $500 before I was verified on the last paypal account (I have a few) I opened a few years ago.

PS- I've made several thousand tranactions and never had a problem with anything Paypal related, both on and off ebay. Knock on wood.

You are confused. It was another poster who said they were unverified. Your previous post to me is the reason for the attitude. You say there is no reason for me to question your experiences with Ebay, yet that is exactly what you did to me and in fact insinuated I may had had other problems to call my ebay reputation into question. Give attitude and you'll get attitude.

The refund was received 24 hours after the last email with no hold on the funds as Dave G. said there would be.

Very true Iron Patch ... Paypal doesn't have to pony up because they have no magic account to pay claims out before they are reviewed and settled . Woodstock

I do agree, I too like PP even though it makes some deals a little frustrating.... but hey, it's the freakin internet and dealing with strangers. I remember back when half my payments going out and coming in were snail mail. Talk about taking forever to get things done, not to mention so much more risk. Now as long as I have a bit of cash and product on hand I can go from zero to 100 in just a few days... when before it seemed like a few weeks to get everything in motion.

Paypal takes a little money, but makes you more, if you're smart!

My mistake due to a long thread and I apologize for my confusion and attitude . And if I upset you by saying there might be other problems didn't mean you were dishonest . I have had to file a few things myself (like bid cancellations) and know there is a limit to how many refunds and complaints that can be filed in a curtain time period or they will put the member on hold . It might have been the seller and not you causing all the problems . Again I apologize for my confusion .
Best of Luck to You in the Future ! Woodstock

PayPal Verification

paypal sux. Used them for over $10,000 worth of purchases over 9 years, now suddenly they want me to get verified. They want my bank account number, so that they know "I am me" ?????? Called them, got the supervisor, no good. I'm going to open a small savings account, and give them that.

I accidentally triggered a PayPal verification request by signing up for that app and device that lets you take credit cards thru your phone. All of a sudden they wanted my SSN to verify my identity. I didn't give it to them and there were no repercussions, other than not getting the PayPal swiper. They did pester me a bit for about 6 months, every time I'd log in I'd get an announcement about my account needing more info that I had to click past. It didn't affect my use of the account whatsoever. The only thing I couldn't do was dump money into my account. I could buy and sell, and if I didn't have enough money in PayPal, they'd withdraw it from my linked bank account. Eventually they gave up and said my account was returned to good standing.

What people ?? The Paypal people or the buyers/sellers ? I trust Paypal and they haven't let me down for many, many years . Woodstock

Yes, I don't have complete confidence when it comes to Paypal always making the right choice when the dispute needs a level of expertise, or at least knowledge of the item to make the proper decision. I actually see it the same way as the banner finds getting picked here. I think there's a lot of people who have never really had an issue with PP, but selling online is a numbers game and a person might get by pretty good only having several hundred transactions, but once you're up into multiple thousands, stuff happens. All that having been said, I still look a the system as a great success given how much I've lost in comparison to how much money is involved... but I still don't like someone on the other end deciding the case when I always know what is right and count on them to come to that conclusion.

Wow, this is one of the first complaints that I have heard about a BUYER complaining about Paypal. I have read hundreds of complaints from eBay SELLERS. I hate Paypal as an eBay seller. I have had fraudulent claims filed by buyers on my items that I know were items that I did not even send. In other words, the criminal bought my item, switched it out with their junk and filed a complaint about "damaged items" that I sent. There were even a couple where you could see in my auction photos that they were not the same items. Paypal found in the favor of the criminal every time.

As a buyer, I love Paypal. Yes, sometimes it takes some time to get money back, but that's what happens with buying on the internet sometimes. There is no way around it. I would be mad about being out the 1200 for a month, too, but there is a process that Paypal has to go through, and your seller is holding it up (purposefully, probably) as long as they can. They get a certain response time for each step in the process.

Ahh, but I wasn't complaining about paypal. It was the way Ebay handled it. After I opened the opened the case, the seller had 8 days to respond. 4 days later he responded. I escalated the case. 3 days later, they responded they were putting a 3 day hold on the case to give the seller instructions on how to issue the refund (WTH?!?). When those 3 days came and went, it took Ebay 2 more days after THAT to even respond to me. Just frustrating on such a large purchase.

I have never had a problem with Paypal as a buyer or a seller.
