Would this be considered a tombac button? What's the difference between say that and a dandy?

Tombac was an alloy material that was used to make some of the flat buttons; it's hard to tell from your pictures if yours is a tombac. When cleaned, tombac buttons will have a grey or silvery appearance and many were spun.

"Dandy" buttons were oversized buttons popular during the late 1700s; refers to the size, not the material made from.
