on Sunday , I had planned on relaxing and taking it easy, which I did. But then I got motivated. I mowed the lawn and since I had rested most of the day, I was suddenly inspired to take a ride to another NC beach. I left the house around 4 pm and was on the beach swinging by 5:10 pm. I hunted til midnight finding lots and lots of clad. I got a somewhat trashy/broken signal and pulled up a nickle. Re-scanned and got another trashy sound. It turned out to be a necklace with an anchor pendant with a Spanish cob (imitation) affixed to it. The clasp is marked ITALY 925. A little while later, I walked by a large group of ppl sitting on the beach and got a signal right in front of them. As i was digging it up , an old man from the group walked up to see what i was digging. It was a penny, rather deep and corroded. The old man told me he dropped a bunch of coins right about where i was. He said if i found it , I could have it. 2 more swings of the detector and BAM ! , i found his money. I called him back over to receive the money as I dug it up. He thanked me and insisted i take half the money. I refused ...he insisted , I refused , he insisted...finally he won. It was only about a dollar and a half in change. Turns out the group is from Iraq. We chatted a bit , then i was off to find more treasure. A short while later , I searched the public area where the pavillion and restrooms are and found a silver heart pendant with the name Barbera stamped in it. I also found my first Euro and my first Euro 2 cent piece. Once again , the weather was perfect. the moonlight was adequate and i had a really good time.
