From India. The small blue plate is written in some form of sanskrit. It indicates 4/47 I believe. Probably the house number.

Here is a pic of a similar style door from an antiques shop in Okhla, South Deli, India.

BTW... Some of these old doors and frames sell for $2,000 - $4,000 US.

MAny of these types of doors exist... and were a product of India.

Carved from many types of wood and made to look very "rustic" and castle like.

At one time they were very popular.

Yeah I've visited many antique shops in Santa Fe and Albuquerque and they'd have a good stock of these architectural pieces from India, plus old rustic furniture and other things that look like it was made from other pieces of architectural salvage from India. That stuff goes real well with all the southwestern home decor down there.
